Quick start · your first Studio recording

Open camera & microphone. Allow access, check your picture, and speak to check the mic meter.
Add a title and permission. Create a guest room, share its private link, and wait for your guest to join and agree to recording.
Try a 10-second test. Play it back to check the sound before starting your session.
Stop, save and download. Check the saved video, then keep a copy in Files or Downloads. Keep Studio visible while recording.

Before going live, check picture and sound in an OBS test recording. PocketTake cannot verify OBS or YouTube’s live status.

Clean 1080p picture and mixed sound for desktop OBS. Use headphones.

Connect your camera and microphone and confirm participant permission first.

Keep Studio and its output window visible. In OBS, add Window Capture and select “PocketTake Broadcast Output”. Capture the window contents only.
Capture the output window’s audio in OBS. Disable duplicate Desktop Audio and Mic/Aux sources. Check your voice, guest and shared-video sound in an OBS test recording first.
Set OBS to 1920 × 1080, 30 fps. Connect YouTube in OBS Settings → Stream, then test with an unlisted broadcast.
Start and stop streaming in OBS. PocketTake’s recording and pause buttons only control the local recording; the broadcast output continues.

Keep this Studio page visible; hiding or closing it interrupts output. Closing the output does not end the YouTube broadcast. Browser audio capture can include other tabs—use a separate browser for Studio and verify your OBS audio routing.
